Large-footed myotis (Myotis macropus). Its common for some microbats to use fairy martin mud nests when the birds are away. These are perfect for bats but unfortunately we need to remove the nests from human structures if work needs to be done. This one was under a large bridge in a colony of dozens.

Border Thick-tailed Gecko (Uvidicolus sphyrurus) - threatened species

Eastern bent Wing (Miniopterus orianae oceanensis) - With a wingless bat fly (Nycteribiidae). These aren't spiders or mites but fly that live as parasites in some bat species and feed off blood.

Spotted-tailed quoll (southern subspecies) (Dasyurus maculatus maculatus). Now an endangered species.

Yellow-bellied Glider (Petaurus australis). Another threatened species. I had an amazing spotlighting survey night with 5 of these guys gliding over my head by only a meter or two. Followed closely by a squirrel glider madly trying to keep up.

Fleay’s Barred Frog (Mixophyes fleayi). An engendered species of Mixophyes that lives in a restricted range of the Main Range and Border ranges in QLD and NSW. This has to be one of my favorite photos.

Swift Parrot (Lathamus discolor). Only a couple of thousand still occur and fly all the way from Tasmania each year chasing blossom.

Bulloak Jewel Butterfly, (Hypochrysops piceata). An very rare and critically endangered butterfly that I have been lucky enough to work with for years.

Regent Honeyeater (Anthochaera phrygia). A few hundred let of these. Seeing one was special to say the least. I hope it happens again one day..
